Driller Assistant Job Description

Job Responsibilities
- Assist driller in performing drilling operations (add/remove drill rods, install casings, change bits, etc.)
- Mobilize/demobilize equipment
- Set up drill site
- Operate equipment (backhoe, water truck, rod truck, crew truck, etc.)
- Sample preparation
- Mix drilling fluids
- Haul materials to the drilling location
- Fuel equipment
- Service and maintain vehicles
- Housekeeping of drill site and equipment
- Work as a team in challenging situations with a variety of personalities
Qualifications
- Successfully passed a pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and functional capacity test, and pulmonary function test
- Good driving record with a valid license; CDL class Bn license preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Able to crawl, squat, and carry materials for extended periods
- Able to lift 100 pounds repetitively
- Able to work at varying heights
- Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions including in harsh weather and remote locations
- Able to work long hours (up to 12-14 hours per day)
- Willing to travel for 14 days at a time with rotating schedules
