Driller Job Description

Based in Elko, Nevada, we operate drilling locations in Nevada and California.
Responsibilities
- Safe and accurate set up of the drill rig and all equipment
- Operate the drill rig and associated equipment for mineral exploration, dewatering, and water supply wells, install well heads, well screen, casing, gravel pack and cement grout, and other well fixtures
- Document geological formations encountered
- Clean and disinfect water wells in preparation for use
- Perform routine mechanical maintenance work on drill rig and equipment
- Maintain rigs
- Supervise and train crews for underground projects
- Communicate with clients on job sites
- Operate and maintain all pump division equipment, including video van, sonar jet operations, testing equipment, and cranes
Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years of verifiable experience as a driller
- Knowledge of casing types, weights, and breaking/collapse strengths
- Knowledge of hole volume, mud weights and properties, and well control systems
- Knowledge of drill string, weights, assembly, and torque values
- Knowledge of thread types
- Knowledge of working controls, table area, and support equipment
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and functional capacity exam, and pulmonary function test
- Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license; CDL class Bn license preferred
- Reliable transportation
- 21 years of age or older
- Able to lift 100 pounds repetitively
- Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions including in harsh weather and remote locations
- Able to work long hours (up to 12-14 hours per day)
- Water well license for applicable states (Nevada preferred or able to obtain)
- Willing to travel for 14 days at a time with rotating schedules
